Shoot'em Up - NOTES

Back to List

F-14 Desert Raider

Dan highly recommends reading thru the game help file before playing.
This from Dan:
"Its a scrolling diagonal birds eye view game with great graphics a excellent sound so turn up those speakers. Also I recommend that it be played on a 486 DX 2/66 with 8 meg of ram or better. I have no idea of how it will run on anything else. Also the game is in 32000 colors so it may look crap on a 256 colour resolution."

Klikapede

Klikapede is a great remake of an old classic! This one isn't self-installing, so you need to have K&P to play.

Laser Wars

Laser Wars is a fine, fine example of screen scrolling.

"Laser Wars is a space game with no sound because I made it on a computer with out sound or color. It uses a technique which you can't use a joystick for the game or it doesn't work. You move around with the arrow keys and you have to find the 5 moons in a big map and when you press up the stars go down and the spaceship points uplike your moving through space and the bad space ships move down when you press up also like your fling away. It is a must try game!"

Space Search

Space Search is a very nice space type shooter, with nice cut screens and a plot!
"Space Search was one of my first so it's not as good as my laser game but it is fairly fun. This is a space game too."

WAR!!!

Don McHoull of GunRunner fame has submitted his newest.....WAR!!!. Very nice shoot'em up with lots of controls and options. This one is BIG...over 3 meg.
"War!!! is not quite like any other Klik & Play game. The two players each take on the role of the armies of two small nations locked in a bloody war. Players alternate between attacking there opponents empire with bomber planes, and defending their own empire. The game will continue until one player's empire is reduced to smoldering rubble. The game feature dramatic Intro and Extro sequences that make bold use of digitized speech. Customizable options allow the game to be adjusted so that it runs well on slower machine or a much faster one."
